If it’s relevant, I’ve confirmed in Kodi that all of my TV shows (the root folder) use TVDB for lookups.Using this imdbnumber thing, I’ve found some other forum posts discussing this, but not a super-clear solution. This option is not needed to actually use NFO files, and Kodi will aways prefer the data from NFO files when they are available.
When you "Set Content", you can set your video content as Music Videos, Movies, or TV Shows.
If you make changes to the NFO file you will need to refresh that library entry for the changes to be loaded into Kodi.
Note: The local-NFO-only option is only needed if you want to prevent Kodi from using scrapers for video files that do not yet have NFO files.
Not sure if exporting IMDB mapped series will result in them using IMDB again when re-imported, but it does seem likely. I’ve looked in the NFO files that a Kodi export generates and can’t find anything that seems related to that imdbnumber.
For example this error for an ep of Last Week w/ John Oliver: Thats The TVDB ID, so thats good.
Setting content to (None) also removes the contents of the selected folder from the Library altogether.
